Hi everyone! I know I promised you all a proper catch-up post next–and there is one coming, I promise–but first I need to get on with a bit of preparation for the UK Meet in September. Not sure how many of you this will apply to, but wanted to make sure you got the opportunity if you’re attending this year :)

Are you going? And if so, would you be interested in getting a signed copy of any of my very fine paperbacks, for an absolute bargain price? Of course you would! *fingers crossed*

Anyway, I need to put in a book order so if you’d like any of the following, please let me know. For anyone who orders/buys more than one book, I’ll be giving you an extra-special gift (details to follow, once I’ve got them all ironed out). All books come with a personalised message, written just for you. My inspiration knows no bounds 😛

Right, here are the titles I’ll be getting in stock:

Yoohoo! I’m back! Major catch-up post.

Hey Peeps, I keep promising you a proper catch-up post, so here it is :)

Family

The kids are doing great. Gabriel is really starting to talk now, and he’s a delightful little boy. Seriously, he cut four teeth last week and even with all that going on, he was pretty well-behaved and sweet. Now the teething pains are over he’s an angel. Albeit one who says “Bum!” a lot…

Daisy has been crowned the Queen of Selfies at school, and you can see why as she takes loads whenever she gets her mitts on my phone!

May 2016 (328) (Copy) June 2016 (65) (Copy)

Andy and I are doing fabulously too. Really happy here in our new home, and even happier that Andy will starting work in a new school in September, cutting about an hour and half off his daily commute. More time with me and the kids, yay!

IMG_5407 (Copy)

The Boom-chicka-wah-wah Bungalow

Yeah, it’s pretty fitting that the woman who used to post all the 70s porn now lives in a house that looks like it could have been one of the sets! Okay, there’s none of the awful wallpaper, but my bathroom seriously looks like a porn set. I love it! The kitchen is less wonderful with all the black tiles, but it has a certain retro charm. The stone cladding in the living room/diner is awesome, but most of all I love the completely private patio, with its scope for naked orgies sunbathing 😛

We’re now pretty sorted in here, although there’s still plenty to be getting on with, and I have a whole bunch of boxes in the loft I need to sort through *cough* hoarder *cough*.

Here’s a few pics taken back before we moved all our stuff in. We all love this house!

I’ll take some more pics soon, I promise.

Distractions

To be honest, I haven’t read any fiction in a long time, apart from a few false starts with library books. There just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day to get into a book properly. I watch the odd telly programme to unwind, though. We’re still making our way every-so-slowly through Game of Thrones (only on series 3!), and much faster through The Mentalist. Sometimes I get to watch Orange is the New Black while Gabriel naps, but always feel a bit guilty as there are about a hundred other things I could be getting on with…

Writing

I’m ready to get back to finishing off Custom Fit next week, now I’ve pretty much sorted everything for the re-release of By Quarry Lake. More about that in a few days!

I just have to try not to get distracted by that amazingly detailed and plotty zombie apocalypse dream I had the other night…

Crafting

I’m still sewing and crocheting away, when I get the chance. At the moment I’m making school summer dresses for Daisy. Yeah, with only three days left of the summer term. Ah well. They should fit her next year, too.

I’m trying to blog regularly about my crafting projects, over on my other blog, Anna-Jo Sews, so if you’re interested in that kind of thing, head on over!

Health

This has all been pretty positive. I’m taking the time most mornings to work out again, and occasionally get to go on a run. Also, I’ve started eating Paleo (ish). Well, Primal, really, as I still indulge in a fair bit of dairy, and I’m none too strict. Basically I’m not really eating grains and I’ve cut right down on legumes, refined sugars, junk food, etc. There’s lots of fruit, veg, meat, fish, eggs and dairy in my diet now, so all good stuff.

As a result I’m feeling amazing! No more brain fog from low blood sugar. No more “must eat NOW!!!” cravings, and best of all, I’ve lost most of the baby pounds :) Oh, and my skin is clearer and smoother, so it’s all good. Strange to give up biscuits and bread after all these years, but even stranger, I don’t really miss them. You’ll prise my dark chocolate out of my cold, dead hands, though 😛

Anyway, that’s most of what’s been going on in my world. What have you all been up to?

Big hugs,

Jo xxx

ByQuarryLake 433x650

That’s right, By Quarry Lake is now available to buy! Currently for sale at Smashwords and All Romance eBooks, with the Amazon version hitting the virtual shelves by the end of the day (hopefully). And it’s only $0.99/£0.99!

Some of you probably already own this novelette as it first appeared three years ago in the Summer Lovin’ anthology (which is well worth a read what with those other superb stories by Lou Harper, JL Merrow, Clare London and Chrissy Munder), but for anyone who doesn’t, here’s your chance! It’s a sweet, coming out, first time story… but not so sweet that there isn’t some hot man on man loving going on (hey, this is one of my stories, what do you expect?!)

Want the blurb? Of course you do…

Still waters run deep…

Tommy’s been away from his home in rural Somerset for three years. Long enough to sort out who he is, and to get over the feelings of confusion and shame that blighted his lifelong friendship with farmer’s boy Rob. He’s out and proud, now—and he’s coming home to claim back what he lost.

Rob’s the one who stayed behind, working on the farm with little time for a social life. With Tommy coming back into his world, he could have a lot to gain—and everything to lose.

He’s going to have to take a leap of faith. Straight into the ice-cold waters of Quarry Lake.

***

Hope all of you are having a wonderful summer! I spent yesterday at Forest School with the rest of my family (so much fun!) and tomorrow I’m taking Daisy to see Matilda the Musical in the West End. So excited! Will write a proper blog post with all my news soon, I promise.

Big hugs,

Jo xxx

Quick update: the Tailor Made series

Tailor Made cover - art by Lou HarperCustom Fit_med

Hey Peeps, how’s things? I’ve been busy as a very busy thing, getting the Tailor Made series all ship-shape. Here are a few of the things I’ve been up to:

  • Editing Custom Fit – the first round of edits are now with my editor. Phew! On target for release on 23rd August.
  • Updating the Tailor Made ebook – I’ve uploaded a new version to most distribution channels (still working on Smashwords) with updated front and end matter. I’ve also permanently reduced the price to a bargain $0.99/£0.99. Woohoo!
  • Promoting the series – I’ve written one post for the blog tour already, and I’m signed up for a promo spot on the Discover Hot Romances Facebook page. If you’re interested in erotic romance, authors are there most days promoting their books and doing giveaways. My spot to chat will be on 23rd August (Custom Fit release day!) and I’ll be about from 9-10pm (BST), or 3-4pm EST if you’re over the pond. Do come and say hello if you’re about. I’ll post a reminder closer to the time.
  • Creating a Tailor Made paperback – this is currently in progress, and I’m just waiting for the cover files. I should definitely have copies for sale at the UK Meet, and fingers crossed, I might manage to get Custom Fit ready for then too. Here’s hoping 😀

Right, that’s about it. Oh yes, I’m also working on some swag for the UK Meet. Exciting stuff!

Now off to make the most of a sunny day and lie around doing very little…

Big hugs,

Jo x

Also, I’ve been busy putting together a paperback of Tailor Made, which is now available on Createspace, and will be out on Amazon soon! I’ll have copies on me at the UK Meet, so let me know if you want to reserve one 😀

Custom Fit (Tailor Made book 2) is out now!

Custom Fit_medWoohoo! Happy release day to me! And to Andrew and Felix too, who get more than their fair share of “releases” during this smutty gay romantic comedy novella 😉

I’m actually posting this from the seaside, as you have to take your chances to get away in England whenever the weather is good. In an ideal world I wouldn’t have planned it for a release day, but at least it will stop me obsessively checking my Amazon rankings :)

So, here are the buy links:
Amazon |Smashwords | Kobo | Nook | All Romance eBooks

Its $2.99, and don’t forget that Tailor Made is now $0.99, so if you’re new to the series you can pick up both books for less than $4.00! Or less than £3.50 on Amazon UK :)

Right, I’m off to build a sandcastle with my kids, then scoff an ice cream, possibly while paddling in the sea #bliss

Happy reading, peeps!

Back to school!

august-2016-200-copy

Yay, it’s September! Actually, I’m not really celebrating as I’m missing Andy and Daisy, but I have to admit it is nice to have a bit more time to myself during the days… while Gabriel is napping, at any rate (please don’t drop your nap, little man!)

So, I have a general catch up post so you can find out how I spent my summer. A fair bit of it was spent in getting Custom Fit ready for publication, but I made sure I took plenty of days off too. Basically, if the sun shone we made an effort to go out and do something. Sometimes that was just a walk in the countryside, but we did take a few day trips down to the seaside. There are so many gorgeous beaches we can drive to in less than two hours (only about 1 hr 20 mins in the case of Weymouth), and now that Gabriel is that little bit older, longer car journeys aren’t quite such an issue. Well, so long as we set off early enough. I don’t want to do another 9:30 trip to IKEA ever again (NIGHTMARE!!!).

This last weekend was also the UK Meet, held down in Southampton for the first time. I’ve got to say I think the organisers did an absolutely smashing job. I reckon this was the best Meet yet for covering all letters of the GLBTQ+ spectrum, there were some really interesting guest speakers taken from outside the world of romance fiction (yay!), and the entertainment at the Gala dinner was top-notch–particularly Ukulele Jam. Who’d have thought a bunch of people playing “good songs moderately well on tiny toy instruments” could be so funny?!

Anyway, here are a few pics from my Meet experience:

book suitcase

My exceedingly heavy suitcase, mostly filled with pre-orders for books! There was barely enough room to fit my clothes in.

Eli and Jo

Me with the lovely Eli Easton, one of my fave m/m authors!

dance crew: Jo, Temple, Clare, Helen

The hardcore dance crew at Pete’s disco: me, Temple Dragon, Clare London and Helen Juliet. We just might have got down on the floor for Oops Upside Your Head…

img_6008-copy

My freshly made rainbow cord skirt got its first outing on the Sunday. It was exceedingly short–think I gave Charlie Cochrane a run for her money ;)

Ann-Marie, Jo, BJ Williams

Hanging out with the delighful Ann-Marie and BJ Williams :)

Becky, Anna, Jo and Lori

It’s pretty much impossible to take a picture near LA Witt without her photobombing it! L-R: Becky Black, Anna Martin & me.

Rach and Jo

Me and Rach! We had been propping up the hotel bar until 3am, so I think we were looking pretty good, all things considered…

And here are a few more random highlights from my weekend, that sadly didn’t get photographed:

  • Making up literal dance moves to Carwash with Temple Dragon.
  • The amazing rendition of RJ Scott’s Happy Birthday by Sing Out Bristol.
  • Petronella, George and Rach scaring off poor Trevor the barman on the Saturday night with all their raucous stories and bawdy jokes.
  • Discovering my roomie JL Merrow had been given an upgrade. We had a balcony, amazing view, fruit bowl and chocolates!
  • All those fantastic hugs from far too many people to mention.
  • Realising that there are only five of us left who have been to all the Meets: me, Jamie Merrow, Becky Black, Clare London and Stevie Carroll.
  • Catching up with so many old friends, and making new ones.
  • Having a proper queue at my signing table and having to overrun and sign books in the break. This is probably because I insist on writing a proper dedication in each one, mind!
  • Getting complimented on my me-made wardrobe.
  • Having some sneaky ciggies with the Sinfully Sexy crew (and others!) and feeling like a naughty schoolgirl!
  • Opening the amazing swag bag. A Josh Lanyon colouring book! One of Tab Klimpton’s comics!
  • FaceTiming with Gabriel each morning and evening. I missed my little man!

That’s all for now, although I’m sure more will occur to me.

But you really came here for pictures of my kids, right? No? Oh well, you’re getting them anyway 😛

Aww, aren’t they cute?!

Anyway, that’s it for now, people. I have a new book to be getting on with. Who’s up for a lighthearted Christmas novella, featuring a somewhat Scrooge-like main character getting swept off his feet by the cheeky young fella who works at the local supermarket?!

Now I just have to write it in time…

What have you lot been up to this summer?

9 books for 9 dollars: have I finally gone crazy?!

landscape indiegogo

Hey everyone, long time no blog post–sorry about that. Life with a toddler is more time-consuming than I remembered, and when he finally goes to sleep the last thing I want to do is stare at a computer screen.

However, life is good, even if I never find time and head space to write anymore. I make sure I do a bit of sewing to satisfy my creative urges, and the kids are wonderful. Oh, all right, Andy is lovely too–he took me to Madrid earlier this month for a combined Christmas and 40th Birthday present. Yep, I’m now 40. Go me!

Anyway, I’m here today to let you all know–if you hadn’t already heard–that Samhain Publishing have finally closed their doors, which has left me with nine books temporarily off the virtual bookshelves. I’ll be doing my best to get them all republished over the next nine months (hopefully faster than that), but first I need to raise some funds for the cover art. I’ll be buying the rights to my favourite covers from Samhain, and having a few redone, all of which costs money. Money which I don’t have right now.

Enter my very first crowdfunding campaign: yes, for just nine USD you can have all of my Samhain backlist when I republish them. That’s nine ebooks for nine dollars. How good is that?! Here are my estimated release dates:

  • March: How to Train Your Dom in Five Easy Steps
  • April: Screwing the System
  • May: The Hot Floor
  • June: Junk
  • July: Stuff
  • August: Scrap
  • September: Handle with Care
  • October: Barging In
  • November: Merry Gentlemen

Check out the Indiegogo campaign page for details of the other perks for different donation amounts. I’ll only be running this for thirty days, so even if it’s not for you, I’d be ever so grateful if you could pass the details on to anyone else you think might be interested.

Cheers lovely people!

Oh, and I’ve missed all you regular commenters. What’s been going on with all of you?

Big hugs,

Jo xxx

Free stories! And more news on the Samhain backlist situation :)

BoyMeetsBoy (Copy) (3)Hey lovely people! I’m just popping by with news about a freebie over on Amazon this weekend. The Boy Meets Boy Meets Boy anthology of raunchy m/m/m shorts by myself and JL Merrow can be picked up for the grand total of nothing! Here’s the link:

http://mybook.to/BMBMB_JLM_JM

Samhain backlist:

HTTYD 433x650ScrewingtheSystem 433x650The Hot Floor 433x650

I’m also pleased to report that I’ve been working hard on the Samhain backlist reissues. At the moment the following three titles are available for immediate download:

How to Train Your Dom in Five Easy Steps

Screwing the System

The Hot Floor (with a bonus Christmas Hot Floor short included!)

Junk 433x650Stuff 433x650Scrap 433x650

And the whole of The Bristol Collection is available for pre-order. Yay! You may also notice Scrap has a lovely new cover, courtesy of Lou Harper who designed the first two. I always wanted her to do Scrap, but by that point Samhain were saving money left, right and centre so bought their cover design mostly back in house. Which is how I ended up with a pretty boy in guyliner pretending to be Dare. The new cover Dare is much more what I have in mind for the character!

Junk

Stuff

Scrap

I will eventually be putting most, if not all, of these books on sale at other retailers, but for now they’re all Amazon as it’s quickest and that’s where most of my sales are anyway. I’ll also be working on paperback editions of all the Samhain books too. Hopefully, those first three should be ready by the end of next week.

That’s all for the moment. I’ll be back with a more detailed update post at some point soon, I promise. There just aren’t enough hours in the day! Rest assured, though, the kids are wonderful, we’re all healthy and happy, and life is good 😀

Hope you’re all doing well.

Big hugs,

The post Free stories! And more news on the Samhain backlist situation :) appeared first on Josephine Myles.

Big news catch-up post!

0
0

Hello, lovely people! Long time, no blog post. Yes, I’ve been busy this year, both in real life and in getting stuck into the Samhain backlist republishing project. But now that’s drawing to an end (all books are back out again in Kindle format and paperback, with other vendors in the process of going live) I’ve got a bit more headspace to think about other writing-related things. And to give you the big news about the other thing I’ve been working on :)

Spud the third 1

Yes, I’m pregnant again! And yes, that’s my real name at the top of the photo–I’ve reached the point where I really don’t mind sharing that. But you can call me Jo, coz that’s my middle name and I’m used to it now :)

The baby is due on 9th May and so far everything is looking good. I had a pretty horrendous first couple of months with morning (or all-day) sickness and exhaustion, but now I’m in the second trimester I’m feeling full of energy and can handle looking at food without feeling ill again. Except garlic, which I’ve had to ban from the house along with salt and vinegar crisps. Just the smell of those on people’s breath is enough to turn my stomach *sigh*

So, we’re all really excited about welcoming a third child into the family. Daisy says she wants another little brother, and Gabriel seems kind of interested in the whole idea. Then goes off to play pirates. Andy is dead chuffed, as any man would be who had reached the point in life where he’d resigned himself to the idea he was never going to have a child, and soon he’ll have two. And here’s a relatively recent pic of me and the kids so you can see how cute they’re looking these days:

IMG_0875

As for other stuff? Well, I’ve been sewing up a storm (my sewing blog is here, if you’re interested in seeing what I’ve been up to), learning Italian and working on the garden. I’ve even joined a book group to get me back into reading again–something that I just haven’t felt like I’ve had much time for since Gabriel joined the family.

And with this sudden surge of second-trimester energy, the drawing to a close of the Samhain backlist project, and the prospect of getting my mornings free in January when Gabriel starts nursery (free for a few months, at any rate!) I’ve been feeling motivated to start writing again. I hadn’t realised just how much the whole Samhain situation had got me down until recently, when I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Formatting and the business side of writing have never been my favourite things, and adding in the dwindling royalty income inevitable with no new titles and the resulting money worries, I was starting to second guess my choice of career and wondering if I wouldn’t be best off just giving it all up and going out to get a job.

You’ll be pleased to hear this was only a temporary state of mind and I’m now very much back into the writing headspace. I have several exciting projects planned (more on all that soon!), and am really looking forward to getting back into a regular writing habit. Yes, that might have to wait until January but in the meantime I’ll be flexing my writing muscles with some shorter snippets, and working on tidying up the backlist ebooks and website so that everything has a good old facelift.

Junk 433x650And in lieu of any new work at the moment, I’d like to offer you all one of my existing titles: over this weekend (Friday 17th November – Monday 20th) Junk will be free on Amazon–so if you don’t already have a copy, head on over there to grab one!

And please, if you know of anyone who doesn’t have a copy of Junk and might like it, do spread the word. I’d really appreciate it! And Jasper and Lewis will send heaps of love your way. Which let’s face it, has got to be better than sending towering heaps of old newspapers 😛

Right, I’ll be back with more news on good backlist deals and future projects over the next month. I promise I won’t be silent for so long in future.

And if you have any news of your own to share, please do so in the comments. I’d love to hear from you all again!

Ciao for now!

Jo xxx

The post Big news catch-up post! appeared first on Josephine Myles.

My Christmas present to you all: a free ebook this weekend!

On why I need Patrons, and what’s in it for you if you choose to sign up…

0
0

So, after much deliberation and many moons after a fan first mentioned the idea to me, I’ve finally gone and set myself up with a Patreon account. And this blog post is intended to set out how Patreon works, why I’ve got one, and what you can expect for your support should you sign up (link at the bottom of the post)–aside from my undying gratitude, that is!

For those of you unfamiliar with Patreon, it’s an online platform connecting content creators (be they writers, artists, bloggers, podcast makers, etc) with the people who want to support them. There are now over 50k creators using the platform, and the income Patreon generates for them is instrumental in helping them to make a career out of their creative endeavours. Accounts can be set up in a couple of different ways, but the one I’ve gone for seems to be the most common: the monthly pledge, where Patrons (that’s you, should you choose to become one!) pledge a monthly amount ranging from $1 up to whatever you choose, and then I produce content and share it with you.

Here’s an official video telling you more:

So, why have I finally joined up?

Let’s get real, it’s partly about the money. I’m not a materialistic person, but over the last couple of years of bringing up a toddler I’ve come to realise that it takes money to make it. After more than a year of no new fiction releases (although plenty of old Samhain backlist ones that have eaten up my writing time) I’m now in a situation where my royalty income has dwindled to a point where I can barely afford my household expenses.

The ideal solution–especially now Gabriel has started nursery and I have mornings free again–would be to publish another book, pronto. However, after the Samhain debacle and seeing several of my old publishers go under, my trust in epublishers is at an all time low. And that means self-publishing. And that means I need money, up front. Money to pay my cover artist, my content editor and my copy editor, so I can send out a professionally produced ebook that I feel comfortable charging for.

And at the moment, there is no money spare to meet those basic expenses, let alone the cost of hiring a promo service and placing adverts, should I choose to go that route. It’s a major stumbling block for me, and has been giving me severe writer’s block. After all, what would be the point in using all my spare time writing something, only to have it languish on my hard drive, unread by anyone else? I could be spending my precious time on my home, family or sewing instead!

Having a reliable monthly Patreon income will allow me to get on with writing without having to worry about how I would be able to publish the results, and it will also enable me to start saving the considerable chunk of money needed to start getting my backlist into audiobook format, which I know many of you have requested. Believe me, I want to hear my books narrated in dulcet tones by some talented voice actor too–even if listening to many of the scenes would make me blush!

But money is only part of the reason. I don’t write purely for money, and never have. Writing is a lonely pursuit, and one of the things that makes it worthwhile is having a connection with readers. The Patreon platform will enable me to have a safe space to share things with my fans, like exclusive bits of new writing, and to interact with you and find out more about what you’d like me to write in the future.

I’ve set up a number of different financial tiers, all of which give you rewards for you support. At the most basic level, you can pledge just $1 a month and receive all my future ebooks free, when they are published, as well as getting update posts from me at least once a week, where I share more about what’s going on in my life–both work and personal. For a little more you’ll get future ebooks in advance of publication, and when you get to the $5 a month tier you’ll also get exclusive new fiction each month, in the form of things like character interviews, short stories featuring fave characters, deleted scenes, scenes from the other character’s point of view, and so on. You’ll even get the chance to vote on what you’d like me to write for you each month!

These rewards are cumulative, so higher tiers also get all the rewards available to the lower tiers. I’ve set up higher level tiers for you super-fans with money to burn, so if you’d like to get a look at my latest WIP way before it hits the virtual shelves you can do so for just $10 a month, and there’s more (like signed paperbacks) should you want to pledge even more than that. I find it hard to believe anyone would give me that much support, but hey, those tiers were available so I filled them in :)

Another reason for starting a Patreon account is get the external accountability I need to keep my motivation up. In the past I found it through publisher deadlines, but those just don’t feel the same when self-publishing! I need you all to keep me on track and keep me writing, even when times get tricky. I know I’ll probably have a tough couple of months once the baby arrives in May, but I’m planning to have pre-written posts to share with you all so no-one misses out on anything.

And the Patreon income will enable me to be able to pay for a few hours of childcare each week (once the baby’s old enough, obviously) so I’ll be able to find that uninterrupted time to sit and write, and keep up with my goal of publishing new ebooks at least 2 or 3 times a year. I’m also hoping that technology will help, and have another goal to raise money for a professional quality voice recorder and translation software, so I can sit and dictate my books while the baby sleeps on my lap. Kind of like Barbara Cartland with her dogs, only a bit less glamorous 😛

I’m hoping this rather long post explains why I’m going this route, and even more than that, I hope that some of you are able and generous enough to sign up and become my Patrons. I will be astounded and oh-so-very grateful for each and every pledge, and your support will make a real and profound difference to my ability to keep writing. There are times this last year when I’ve thought I should just give it up and get a job instead, but I don’t want to. I love writing and I love hearing from my readers, and I want more of both in my future.

Any questions, please do comment or send me an email. I’m very open to feedback and if you would like to sign up, but don’t feel like you’d be getting enough for your pledge then please let me know. The levels aren’t set in stone and if I get enough people saying that, I will adjust them and make the rewards higher. I’m also willing to consider offering other kinds of rewards like making vlogs or podcasts, should the demand be there!

Right, that’s all for now.

Big love and hugs,

Jo xxx

Barging In - 433x650

Just a quick update today to let you know that Barging In is currently free on Amazon, but just till the end of today so grab it while you can!

Also, I’m in the process of getting How to Train Your Dom back on the digital bookshelves (ie, not just Amazon), and you can find an up to date list of the places stocking it here: https://www.books2read.com/u/bxqkyv

Right, that’s it for today. I’m back into the writing and managed almost 1500 words this morning, despite worrying I would have writers block after such a long time without writing. Turns out I really enjoyed every minute of getting back into the old WIP, and I can see that my wordcount will soar over the spring! And my Patreon launch has been a huge success–exceeding my expectations and then some. I’m really looking foward to writing all sorts of fun goodies to share over there. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who’s signed up so far 😀

Happy reading, peeps!

The Perfect Whore Storm and Lightning Book 1 by Josephine Myles

I’ve been busy working away at this ebook (along with another coming later in the year), so please excuse the long blog hiatus. Those of you who’ve been following the blog for a long time might remember this as a story I posted as a serial here all the way back in 2012. This is now the updated, edited and revised version and it’s vastly improved, even if I do say so myself :)

Here’s the blurb and pre-order links:

Being the object of everyone’s sexual fantasies ain’t all it’s cracked up to be…

On a mining colony planet a long way from Earth, bandit Jedd Lightning dreams of making enough money to get his ship spaceworthy again. During a robbery at a high-class brothel, he meets gorgeous alien rentboy Storm and is instantly smitten—but the heist goes south and Jedd has to high-tail it out of there with only half the loot.

Enslaved by a fierce Madam, Storm’s shapeshifting talents make him the most sought after whore on Talmak. He literally can’t stop himself becoming his client’s fantasy lover. Sick of enforced transformations, he wants to escape, but he’s closely guarded and has no experience of the unfamiliar city outside the brothel.

Storm is willing—and eager—to do anything to persuade Jedd to break him out of his gilded prison. Lucky for him the arrogant outlaw needs Storm’s help to free his crewmate, held as hostage by a vicious mob boss who wants Jedd to complete the theft he was hired for. Storm keeps blowing away Jedd’s expectations—but with both the law and the mob against them, they could end up with nowhere left to run.

Science Fiction gay romantic adventure

(other retailers to follow in July)

I’ve posted the first chapter and half here on the website, so you can check those out if you’re interested in reading more.

I realise that sci-fi adventure is a bit of a dramatic departure from my usual writing, but I hope there’s enough of my trademark humour and smut to keep all my readers happy. Early feedback from my patrons (who got the book last week as one of their perks) has been great so far, so I’m feeling optimistic.

Right, that’s one baby out of the way. Now I just need to have the other, flesh and blood one. I’ll find out tomorrow when I visit the consultant when she’s going to want to induce me–could be next week, could be anytime up to 9th May–it just depends on my platelet count. Exciting (and daunting!) stuff!

Love and hugs,

Jo x

PS, if you’re interested in getting my future books ahead of everyone else, do check out the perks of becoming my patron–I’m so grateful for everyone who’s pledged on Patreon, and the income was what made it possible to get this book self-published. I’m hoping it will also fund future audiobooks, as I’d love to get the backlist in audio too :)
